Wellington Country Park
We wondered how long before the Atlantic Heat would be used at this popular big fish water.
Reg Verney joined Welly this season and enjoyed a fantastic first session on the water.
Reg used 10kg of Atlantic Heat 18mms at various ranges and notched up the following fish. 35.05, 35.06, 39.11 and a 45lb+ common!!
What a way to open your account at the water! Just goes to show, no pre-baiting necessary....The Atlantic Heat totally instant and long term.

Frankie catches 2-scale.

Old fish this one. Frankie sent through this pic of the old warrior 2-scale at 33lb+ from Ham Pool in the Cotswolds.
This fish was one of 6 landed over a hectic overnight session.
Frankie used 3kg of KingFish 18mms to keep the action flowing.
Great session m8 seeing as this was the first time the KingFish has been used at the venue!

Baitworks 40th 40.

Mike Holly caught this stunning 40+ from an overnight session recently.

This 40 is the fortieth that has fallen to Baitworks Boilies. When you consider the geographical location as well as our limited trade outlets then this is quite an achievement considering the amount of 40lb fish in our area. I hazard a guess that there are probably more 40lb captures to add to the list from some of our secret squirrels out there but for now this number has reconfirmed the pedigree of the Boilie range......
Mike used Atlantic Heat 15mms fished at the base of a marginal shelf and introduced 15 free baits during his stay.
Mike was over the moon with the capture of this particular fish.
As you can see from the pic, this one is a real looker.

KingFish Nails the Lin.

We thought it wouldn't be long before our new bait caught up with the club lakes most desirable!
Taz has been on fire since the start of spring catching over 30 fish using the KingFish. The Lin was the one he really wanted and it was a pleasure for me to pop down and see this glorious old carp on the bank.
Tipping the scales at over 33lb on this occasion.
Top result Taz.

King Common.

What a result this is!
Chris popped over the Unit the other day to pick up some of our new KingKish 18mms. Going straight to his new venue and knowing it contained a very large common, I commented that this would be his first fish. This is the first time the KingFish has ever been used at this water, so when Chris Called me in the morning with a huge 42lb 10oz common in his net I had to pinch myself!
A fantastic result for Chris on his first night at the venue. The Melksham angler fished at short range and introduced 3kg on his over night stay. The big common picked up a single 18mm bottom bait.
The KingFish will be released shortly...........

48hrs on the KingFish.

New Baitworks user Dave Jones kicked off in fine style with a 5 fish haul from a busy club lake.
This cracking twenty as well as the other fish took a instant liking to the new bait. Dave fished at short range and introduced 3kg of Boilies during his stay.

Top result Dave, I'm sure more will follow.

Work = Reward.

Congratulations to Richard Rogers.
I take my hat of to guys who manage to juggle fishing , work and a family and still manage to get up to the lakes for one nights fishing per week.... Usually on a Friday, usually rushing to slot into a 3rd or 4th choice swim when other anglers have been there for days and sometimes weeks!
Well Mr Rogers religiously makes the pilgrimage up the M4 every Friday regardless of weather to angle for some stunning fish that reside in his chosen venue.
After turning up and realising he had forgot his bait in the freezer he began to rummage through his tackle bag to find some worthy bait. Richard found 500g of Atlantic Heat i5mms that had been fermenting in the bag for two weeks! The pic shows that bait that Richard used and didn't he put it to good effect!
Catching a PB that afternoon!

Fantastic result mate M8, well happy for you fella.

PB to Matt Price.

New Baitworks user Matt Price got him self off to a flier in the shape of this 34lb common.
Matt fished a single overnight session between work and caught the fish just minutes before reeling in to join the rat race!
A handful of 18mm Atlantic Heat boilies placed under a willow tree tripped the big common that signals a personal best for Matt.

Good stuff Matt. Top Angling

No fixed abode.

Ecstatic with this capture! I sometimes pop in one a particular pressured club lake from time to time to target some of its large wily carp.
Due to the nature of my sessions I knew that having a number of fish from one venue is not my style of fishing. Flitting about from water to water is very much the way I angle these days. With this in mind I knew the water in question held one old original mirror that seldom graces the bank.
Spotting a fish roll at 75 yards one evening and a 18mm KingFish was sailing out in its direction. I retiring to the sleeping bag a little more than confident. The 27.6 mirror that slipped over the net cord the next morning took my breath away as it is a beautifully striking long looking carp.
This one was definitely on my list of most wanted!
They call this one the Pretty one with very good reason.
Fantastic.

Peach

What a cracker...I had a phone call from Dan the other day to get down to the lake sharpish!
When I arrived this 29lb+ carp was the reason.
Stunning old fish that is rightly called "The Peach".
Home made Atlantic Heat 18mms with Dans own additives proved the winning formula.
Great result Dan.

Last gasp.

Justin Badman winkled this 29.12 mirror out right at the death on a day only venue.
Applying the Monster Red to a margin feature tricked this mirror before the Bristol rod had to leave.
Any later and Justin would have missed his tea that his mother had waiting for him

Bait Developments.

Those close to Baitworks will know that over the last 12 months I have been looking into developing a shelf-life Atlantic Heat and Monster Red boilie.
After many test batches and in-depth conversations with professionals in the food industry I am happy to announce that our baits will be available in a shelf-life form very soon. Nothing has changed with the mix (nor will it ever). A natural product that preserves as well as our new drying process in place means we are both excited and confident that these will catch a awful lot of carp in 2009+.
The fish pictured here is a mid twenty mirror (captured this week) that was caught on the finished version of our new range that will be shortly released.

Watch this space.

Another for Alan.

Alan sent us over this picture of a 27lb+ mirror from a very pressured water.
With only limited time Alan used the ever faithful Atlantic Heat 20mms soaked in the matching glug to catch this gorgeous looking mirror.

A top result from the water in question. Well done Alan.

Easy.

Ellie Taylor(13) fished her first over nighter last week and she banked this stunning 18.10oz personal best fully scaled mirror from Horseshoe lake.
Fishing with Dad Greg and Brother Jake, the family enjoyed a fantastic overnight session. The Taylors used our new KingFish 15mms to bank 7 carp throughout their short stay.

Top result.

Personal Bests
Since Baitworks formed in 2005 we have had the pleasure of witnessing hundreds of personal best carp being recorded. This gives me huge satisfaction and makes all the hard graft of rolling thousands of little balls daily all worth it.
With Clive Robert realising a dream in not only catching his first 40 but then his second the next day this surely is what fishing is all about. The smile on Clive's face said it all.

I remember when Phil Bunyan first started to use our bait in 2006 having a UK personal best fish of twenty something pounds. Phil then fished with the Atlantic Heat and went on to have a good season on Wraysbury catching his first 30lb fish and then going on to catch several more that year over that weight.
Storys like these are what makes Baitwork Baitworks.
Enjoy your fishing and the rewards will follow.

Good luck for the season.

Target achieved

Dave Ellyatt caught up with his target fish in very quick time this week.
Fishing a southern Venue Dave trickled in the Atlantic Heat to a couple of likely areas. After catching his target common last week Dave was ecstatic to see the big mirror slip over his net. What a beauty this one is......37.10 of classic looking carp.
Both fish wrapped up in very little fishing time.

Top result Dave.

KingFish Jackpot.

Tom Pollard enjoyed a dream mornings fishing on our new bait that will be shortly released. Tom introduced 2kg of KingFish 18mms to a margin feature at Churn Pool lake in the Cotswolds. At 7.30am his right hand rod was away with this cracking 32.14lb common that had eluded capture for some time.
His session got even better when 1 hour later the other rod went off and Tom landed a 35.02lb common! Both fish were excreting large amounts of the KingFish on the mat, testament to the attraction properties of the KingFish.
I was on had to photo and video the action at Churn Pool (you can see the video at Club Baitworks) and what a pleasure it
was to see two magnificent commons on the bank. Apr 09
Atlantic Heat strikes 1st again.

The first fish of the year from a particular South West venue has fallen to the Atlantic Heat again. We make that 4 years on the trot now! Alan Moore the proud captor of a 30lb+ mirror. Alan used a 20mm Atlantic bottom bait soaked in the awesome dip and introduced 20 baits during his two night stay.
The Video can be seen on our new Club Baitworks section.
Check out the Barons Diary for the latest goings on at Baitworks HQ.

Well done Alan.

Base Mix result

Dan sent us through this recent capture
of a 25lb common that had taken a liking to his custom Atlantic Heat base mix. The Cotswold angler mixed his own flavours/oils and rolled his own little baits.
Our base mixes are now available for general sale in the "boilies" section
Now you can purchase the mixes and personalise them for your own fishing.
Endless combinations.

Dave Ellyatt

Had this pic sent through from Dave this week. Fishing with the Atlantic Heat at an undisclosed Southern venue, the E-S-P front man wasted no time in getting off the mark with this 29.14 common.
18mms fished at short range accounted for the action.

Champions (again)

The annual ECHO (English Carp Heritage Organisation) AGM is an event that I like to attend every year.
If you remember last year Giles and I were playing for Advanced Carp (DHP) (sponsored by Born&Bred) in the 5-a-side competition. We managed to win that one last year and this year we only won it again!
I will not go into too much detail on how I had a massive bearing on the outcome(!), but lets just say I managed to save 6 penalty's (Giles missed his) in the semi final shoot out and then scored the winner in the final!!!
Word spread to the upper football circles, and I had a missed call from a certain Scottish manager during the presentation!

What a great day and an event that will hopefully draw more anglers over the years.

Until next year.....I will keep my knees well oiled with salmon oil.

Another for the Oily Fish Mix.

I managed to nip out for a couple of single over night sessions the other week.
After looking around the park for a suitable lake I settled on a venue that I hadn't fished before. After introducing 50 x 18mm free baits I settled in for the session to see what might occur.
On the second night this fella took a liking to the new bait and was soon in my waiting net. 27.7 of big pit mirror and to my knowledge the first fish out since Oct 08!!
Top result for myself and the new bait.
Back to the rolling....

40 Knocks.

Clive Roberts has done it again, 42lb mirror! What a session on the Atlantic Heat...82lb for two fish!
We are not to sure what more we can add!

Top Result Clive.

Clive's Comeback.

I had this photo sent through from Clive this week.
This 40lb+ mirror was just rewards for the likable Swindon angler.
Fishing at 50 yards range Clive set about introducing 20 Atlantic Heat bottom baits to his chosen feature. Later that session the rod ripped off and Clive was on it in a flash, moments later his first forty lay in his net.
Mega result Clive....The smile says it all.
Mar 09
Winter's over!!

I do say this with a huge amount of optimism! With the most miserable winter on record we can all now look forward to the spring and summer season.
Most of the lakes up and down the UK have been frozen then un-frozen making for a very frustrating winter.
I did manage to have myself a very good winter with fish of 24,25,33,35,38,39 all gracing my net from Dec - Feb from a number of different venues. Some of these were caught on the new prototype bait as well....very encouraging.

Well, good luck to everyone for the coming season, may your next be your best.
Mar 09
Kicking off.

Justin Badman popped over to his local lake this week.
With all the fish now waking up, the Bristol boy wasted no time in catching these two twenties on a short day session.
Monster Red pop ups fished over 10 free offerings scoring again for our Justin.

During December and early January, Simon Scott and Dan Gale from the Sparsholt College Fishery Section ran a series of industry visits for their National Diploma Fish Management students to the Cotswolds based carp bait company Baitworks. The aim of this trip was to show the National Diploma students what is involved in running a small business in the fishery sector and secondly to let them gain an insight into carp bait development and manufacture.

The boss of Baitworks, Mark Bryant, gave the students an excellent and highly informative insight into the way he began and now operates his business. He then showed the groups how he manufactures the famous Atlantic Heat Boilies which have helped his business to become so popular.

The students were then given the opportunity to roll a few of their own boilies! For about an hour the Baitworks factory looked like a scene from Masterchef, before finally all of the students had a bag of freshly rolled bait to take away with them!

The visits were hugely popular with all the students that went and despite the cold weather that we have had since we ran the trips, several of the students have caught large carp on the baits that they rolled with Mark!

Many Thanks to Mark Bryant for giving us the time.

Over nighter.

With the lakes now thawed from the week long freeze, myself like many others were itching to get out of the house. The opportunity to fish on a guest session at a large southern venue proved too much for me to pass up.
With no winter captures to date I knew a quiet night and a good nights sleep could be on the cards!!
After many hours searching I settled on a silt/gravel mark at long range.
Trailing a new bait for the first time this year, I introduced 15 free baits in total.
In the small hours the left hand rod was away, and after a hectic tussle this 25lb mirror was a very welcome landing.
Great to start 2009 off with a proper winter fish......

Here we go again.

With the terrible cold weather we are having, it is giving me a chance to look at some new and exciting products. Watch this space over the next month or so as some interesting new features will appear on the Baitworks site.
The pic above is from a social event that a group of us had at one of the local lakes.
The day started off ok, but by 1am and a midnight game of rugby, we are all a little worse for wear by the morning!!
We will never learn!
One fish was caught by Ben Smith, great result for team Baitworks!!

Barter continues.

Lee sent us through his latest winter instalment.
Fishing long range spots with mixed sized Atlantic heat boilies round each rod.
Lee fished over a 48 hr session taking two fish of 26lb 14oz and a 32lb mirror.

A great result for this time of year Lee, top man.
