The last thing top pit needs is to be turned into another runs water, its fine just the way it is.
Maybe a few more of us should start to fish it a little more often and give AKAC a bigger presence on the water.

Hi Guys, correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive this is a fairly new forum and it might be a good idea to put a few posts on some other fishing forums to point readers to the baitworks one, especially with regard to Top pit. AKAC need some support and we would appreciate it greatly. Despite Watermarks' claims, they do not own the water or control the fishing. They do however control the parking but this can be overcome with a bit of discretion...ie a quick offload of tackle and leave no signs of angling in your vehicle.. No overnight parking is allowed on the bank but you can park in Waterlands car park as long as you let Pete Pendlebury know.

Watermark have now set 'NO FISHING' signs on Top Pit, but would all AKAC members and day ticket anglers please ignore these. AKAC still hold the fishing rights, just observe the parking restrictions and fish on. Thanks

Thanks for the support guys we could do with a few bods fishing during the winter that would be good. Just get up there and fish and abide by all the rules. ignore the no fishing signs and carry on. The biggest way to annoy anyone trying to catch you out is do everything by the book which is what we are advocating. WM arn,t just trying to stop us, they have been hassling Pete Pendlebury, Ali Swainston. and the local residents. The price of a Keynes countrypark season ticket used to be £43 a year. Under WM its now £150 and surprisingly no takers. If somehow the fishing is lost to WM you can expect a hefty increase in the cost of a ticket. Also our lease covers cokes and neighbridge so you can say goodbye to those aswell. Food for thought guys.

AKAC have NOT lost the fishing rights to Top Pit. All allegations against the angler in question were made by AD of Watermark and found to be untrue. Carry on fishing up there on the AKAC ticket but please obey the rules so as not to give Watermark any ammunition to throw back. Ignore the no fishing signs, these were put in place by Watermark, as were the parking restrictions and not by AKAC. We need to spread the word about whats going on up at Keynes Park, so hopefully this subject will receive some attention and support on the new website. Any problems, please contact the Secretary of AKAC [details on club card]. Thanks guys but remember, use it or lose it, we don't want another runs water.
