Five fish before breakfast

How about that for a cracker? Just under 30 pound, a cracking Walthamstow fish, taken this morning on the old faithful Atlantic Heat. This is one of five fish that went off this morning, big time. They came in and cleared me out of bait, so I’ve got another one in the sack to show you. Look at the colours, an absolute cracker.

Here’s the other one, 31lb-odd, a cracking Walthamstow number-two carp, taken on the old Atlantic Heat soaked up in our hot fish oil. I put the hot fish oil on loads of stuff, pop-ups and baits, and I’m going to show you that now. An absolute cracking morning, belting fish, what a place.

The oil I’ve been using

This is the oil I’ve been using this session, our hot spicy fish oil. It can be used on loads of stuff, it’s totally natural, and you can’t overload it. What I’ve been doing is putting it onto all my baits, the freebies I’ve been putting out, literally just top-dressing them, glazing them up. I put out a kilo or so this morning. You just dribble a tiny bit of oil on top, give them a soak for at least an hour, ideally overnight, and that permeates into the bait and releases little flat spots off it.

Especially when the fish came in this morning, we noticed flat spots starting to appear as they were eating the bait, oil coming out through their gills up to the top, flat spots. And lo and behold, we had a few takes. A great little way to add extra attraction to your boilies.

Hook baits and pop-ups

I’ve also been soaking up my hook baits, these hard hook baits, very simply, same again. Just drizzle the oil in, give them a rattle around, and after an hour or two they go a nice ruby-red colour, bringing extra attraction to your baits.

Exactly the same with the pop-ups. Being cork-dusted, they suck in the oil really well. Don’t put too much on though, because you’re plugging the little air holes and they’ll become less buoyant. Just put a little glaze over the top, absolutely perfect.

The summer combination

So there you have it. In the summer months, get on the fish, they absolutely love it. Their metabolism is rocketing at the moment and they’re certainly on the food. These oils and boilies, you can’t beat that combination. We put in about a kilo this morning, they wiped us out, and I’m about to go home soaking wet, but five fish and some absolute belters, so very happy. Give it a go.
