How to use Booster Bottles

Posted By [email protected] baitworks

Baitworks walks through the new range of booster bottles, a quick and easy way to add extra pulling power to your pop-ups and hook baits, especially in the colder months. Full transcript below.

A 22-pounder on a boosted pop-up

Look at that for a cracker, 22 pound, taking one of our HELL pop-ups soaked up in the booster liquid. We’ve got a booster for every bait in our range, well worth putting onto your baits, particularly in the winter. This fella snaffled up the bait after only four or five minutes, so awesome pulling power. I’ll get him back, then show you how to apply them and get the best out of them.

What the booster bottles are, and how much to use

These are the range of booster bottles we now do through Baitworks, available for all our pop-ups and all our baits. Dead handy, a lovely little 15ml or 50ml of flavour profile in there, and you can’t overload it. Some of our guys use the whole bottle on their tubs, but I personally recommend about 15 to 20 drops, then reapply every three to four weeks, or if you’re fishing more regularly than that, maybe every week.

Applying to pop-ups

The way to do it is very simple. I use our HELLs, which I’ve been using today. Take the bottle, click the top on, and you’ve got a lovely little drop system. Just put in 15 to 20 drops, counting them in, give them a shake, and glaze them all up. They’ll be nicely glazed and will take the flavour profile over the course of an hour or two. If you do it the night before, by the morning the pop-ups will be nice and dry and the flavour will have soaked fully into them. A great little tactic that gets you loads more bites in the winter months, when you’re trying to home the fish in on the hook bait.

Applying to hard hook baits

It’s the same with the hard hook baits, say the Atlantic Heat, the Monster Red, or the Royal Marine. Again, all you’re doing is applying 15 to 20 drops, and these will soak up over an hour or two. There we go, a lovely little glaze, nice and dark. Give them a rub around, give them a shake, and that’s it, job done. Keep them in your rucksack. Brilliant pulling power, it’s certainly going to get you more bites.
