Simon Scotts Boosted Stick Mix

Why the Royal Marine stick mix

Within the Baitworks range there are some really good stick mixes, specifically designed to match the boilie range. My current favourite is the Royal Marine stick mix, and I’ve got some in this trusty maggot tub. What I tend to do when I get a bag of stick mix is decant it into this tub, it just makes it easy to work with. And I like to pimp up most techniques, basically.

The boosted mix

So what I’ve done to this stick mix is add 150ml, the small bottle, of Royal Marine dip straight in on the dry mix. Then I’ve added 75ml of hemp oil and 75ml of salmon oil to the dry mix, and mixed it through with a fork. That gives me a really nice consistency. If you look closely, it’s just tacky enough that it binds up, so it makes a beautiful stick, but not so solid that it won’t break down in the water.

Ready to go

What I can do with this is keep it in the tub, in my bag all the time, and make a stick very quickly if I need one. I don’t have to add the liquids or carry them with me, I just have the bait box with me and I’m ready to go. Fishing in the edge, it looks a bit cloudy on the bottom there, so a quick stick on the rig, down it goes, and you’re in with a very good chance of hooking a fish. I’ve had some cracking fish using this product, really recommend it.
